Suicide Prevention Day 9/10/19

Tuesday, September 10, 2019 for World Suicide Prevention Day

The message promoted this year is "Suicide doesn't have to happen." Too many times, we've lost people in the world due to suicide. With the pressure of depression, pain, loneliness, and many other issues, it can cause a person to lose focus with themselves. The purpose of World Suicide Prevention Day is to celebrate the human need for empathy, companionship, and healing.

We believe it's important to connect with people who need help before it's too late. According to the World Health Organization, close to 800,000 people die from suicide every year. It's the second leading cause of death for people between 15-29. Knowing that this was the case and people like Kalief Browder, McKenzie Adams, Mya Vizcarrondo-Rios, and more exist, we got together to spread information to people in the Bronx.

Girls Mentor Girls went to the street to reach out.

Women throughout the world suffer in silence until it's too late to save them.

If you or someone that you love is at risk of hurting themselves, please reach out to us.
